DIY Space Saver for your Jewelry
I'm really into accessories and I think 45% of my thrift finds are earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. I don't think I could ever have enough jewelry and that was the problem. I had nowhere to stash it all without getting it all tangled or earrings missing it's partner and bracelets that don't really fit in jewelry boxes.
Which led me to this...my son actually asked me to buy him a bigger cork board to hang his drawings in his room. So we took down the smaller one from his room and put it in our bedroom for my earrings! They easily push into the cork board and it displays it really nice so I can quickly decide what earrings I want to wear that would match my outfit that day! I also found another board from the thrift store, which I think is used to hold pictures or letters that I put on the wall underneath the cork board. Then I poked the push pins through so I could hang my bracelets and long necklaces.
So it looks like this...

Pretty easy to do and only cost me $8 for the cork board and little board and the push pins.

What's the 411?
Feels like I've been neglecting my blog and my blog readers. Lately my days have been packed with working, being a Mommy, writing, reading, thrifting, creating, gardening and piano playing...trying to keep a normal life whatever that may be.
I have been working on multiple home projects and some have been accomplished, while others are still in my mind waiting for the right time to become a reality. Being a home owner is a blessing b/c I have the freedom of manipulating my space and expressing my arts and crafts in that space.
My goal for this summer is to create 1 piece or work on 1 project a week and to post it on my blog. I think the reason why my readers enjoy my page is b/c they get ideas that they can re-create. I follow many creative people and I love sharing their ideas too! That truly is what's great about the internet, all the wonderful ideas that is out there that you can access with the click of a mouse!
Also, I plan on getting a smart phone soon (yipee) which I am really excited about! I can take more pictures and post it directly onto my blog. I am also able to blog on the go which is also nice. Sometimes when I'm in the car or out and about I come across so many interesting people or places that I wish I was able to blog about it at that moment. Instead of waiting until I come home at night and then I completely forget what it was or who it was that I wanted to blog about. So cross my fingers that I will soon be getting it sometime in the next few weeks!
Thanks to my loyal readers, you do motivate me to keep up my creativity and to keep writing. Thanks for visiting and please stop by once in a while and keep me company :)

It's muh Birthday I can thrift if I want to....
So I was out with little swag today for my birthday~He was still off from school for spring break and I took the day off~Just happened to be my birthday and it all worked out~Went to see Wrath of the Titans in 3D (eh...not worth $10.50 per person to see it, even in 3D)...plus the $15.00 for a small popcorn and small drink!!! ugh! Makes me ill spending all that money for stale popcorn and watered down soda-ha!
Anyway...went to SalVal right after to see if I can find some cork boards for my jewelries~I did find a couple of boards that would work~My poor little jewelry case is not able to hold all my fab finds any more! Hopefully it looks good, more organized than it spilling out of my jewelry case~ I'll post some pics when I'm done~I may have to ask the hubby to help me with his power drill!
Also stopped to get hair-dye~Feeling bored with my color~Bought a dark purple color~Hoping it looks like the color on the woman's hair on the box! We'll see, I'm always disappointed with boxed hair dye's, but I can't spend $100 for someone else to dye my hair....I've got issues~
Let's see, what other projects am I up to?? Well I'm still waiting for my glow in the dark paint to come in the mail. Ordered it from Amazon. Apparently they don't sell outdoor glow paint anymore at Lowe's or Home Depot? Guess it wasn't popular~They are very expensive though~Cheapest I found was at Amazon plus you get free shipping~So you are probably wondering why I'm buying glow in the dark paint?? Well I have an outdoor project I'd like to do with it. We have a lot of white stones in our yard. They outline the front of our plant bed. I plan on painting them with the glow paint and hopefully at night they will light up the lawn?? I'll post some pictures of it too when I'm done~

Compliments are sweet :)
So we went to a birthday party this Saturday and 2 Easter parties on Sunday~I received so many compliments on my clothes...shoes...accessories! I was asked, "where did you get that shirt?" or "wow! that's a really pretty bracelet, where did you get it?" Of course I am excited to tell them...well everything I have on I bought from the thrift store! Then there's usually a short pause as the person asking me all the questions looks at me from head to toe~Then I usually get, "Really? wow! I should go thrift shopping!" or if they aren't into it I get..."Really? Wow, I don't think I cold ever do that, they couldn't possibly have my size." Honestly, thrifting has now become a part of my life. I just couldn't possibly afford to shop the way I used to. I would spend at least $30-$40 bucks on just 1 top from the GAP or $50-$70 on a pair of jeans! Now that I think about that...it literally makes me sick! I mean sure I spend at least 2 hours rummaging through racks and racks of used clothing at the thrift stores. But that's all part of the fun! When you find really great name brand pieces still in decent shape for a couple of bucks!
So for the people out there who share my passion I give you major props :) haha!
Also, I added a "buy my goodies" button on my blog page to the right. If there is anything on here that I post that you would like to buy, hit me up! Just describe the item and we can do it thru Paypal. I love sharing my finds with you!

Dyeing Eggs...nope!
In celebration of Easter decided to dye my nails Easter colors...the process was actually pretty easy and fun!
pick your colors
need vaseline to apply to your skin so the polish doesn't only sticks to your nails and not to your skin
need a bowl or cup of water
start dropping polish into the water little by little from the center
take a toothpick and start making swirls
once you are happy with the design...
take your nail
and dip it in slowly
it's ok that it gets on your finger, because of the vaseline it will wipe off easy
and there you have it!
repeat the steps until you have 1 hand done and let it dry before you start on your other hand
have fun!
