I drive more aggressive than usual~ My excitement is uncontrolable~ My heart palpitates as soon as I walk through the door~ Grab a basket...no, scratch that, I grab a cart~ Aaaaaah~ The wonderful world of thrifting~

Okay, so I am pushing it a little bit this week~ I usually just go once a week to Sal Val (nickname my girlfriend gave for Salvation Army)~ But I couldn't help it this week~ For some reason I had an urge to go out again today, the craziest of days to go~ So was it worth it? Oh most definitely! Yes it was more crowded today, bumping into people and other carts trying to go down every isle to look at each piece of clothing~ But nothing compares to the feeling of finding a nice piece and to find one in your size?? It's orgasmic! Yes! I'm crazy! But I don't need an intervention~ I'm not going to put my family out on the streets spending all of our money on thrift items~ But hey...let's face it, more and more 2nd hand stores are opening across the country~ This is how American families are shopping now~ So if you think it's a waste of time and not your thing...then you just don't get it~ Plain and simple~ So go ahead and buy your $50 pair of jeans and $500 purse~ I'll most likely find the same at the thrift store for $5~

My Love for Food

Okay, so I was thinking why do I have a thrifty blog when I should really have a food blog because I love to cook and eat! But I guess it makes sense b/c we make yummy food for less?? We do try to cook every night and we save a lot of money that way~ And maybe once a week indulge in fast food or what have you~ Still, nothing beats good home cooking~ And I'm happy to say that my family would rather eat home cooking than fast food which is why I put in a lot of effort in making simple and yummy creations~ I actually found this idea on my now favorite site (pinterest)~ Very easy to make and so good! One of those recipes where you say to yourself, "Duh! Why didn't I think of that!"

Chicken Curry

I'm not a picky eater...I love food and all types of different cuisines~I have been craving Indian food for the past few days~ Hubby and I decided to make chicken curry with rice last night~ We used simple ingredients that I found at Walmart and made our version of chicken curry~ If you are like me, I learn a lot from watching~ So I took step by step pictures of how we made our curry dish~ I urge you to try it yourself...it was delicious!

Care and Share Thrift Shop and Salvation Army Store

Went to the local care and share thrift store in Souderton this afternoon  http://www.careandshareshoppes.org/ and got some great finds~Also from Thurs-Sat is 50% off ladie's and Junior's~I wasn't aware of this sale and I got there pretty late today~Lots of racks to go through and they also have a great shoe and purse section~I'm in search of clutches and beach bags or brown leather saddle bags~Only had 30 minutes till closing time, so I had to rummage through the racks really quickly~When I checked out, I was told by the cashier that I should come back for their big sale on March 16 as they will have everything in the store half off~I definitely need to add that to my calendar~I will also come back again tomorrow b/c 30 minutes is not enough time to look through everything~
